Raymond Demarco
Born in Glasgow in 1961, Raymond Demarco is a third-generation Italian Scot. Both his grandparents were from Picinisco, migrating to Scotland in the early 20th century after their marriage. His marriage to Silvana sparked a powerful rediscovery of his connection to the Comino Valley. Since Silvana is Italian and her family lives in Atina, the couple now regularly travels back to the region. They hope their children will one day cherish and preserve their Italian heritage and their sense of belonging to their grandparents’ home.
