The narrators

The archive features interviews with fifteen Italian Scots from the Comino Valley from three generations, born between 1947 and 1980. They represent a wide array of professions—from teachers and lawyers to celebrated authors—challenging the traditional view of their community's work. They include prominent writers such as Mary Contini and Anne Pia, as well as talented emerging authors like Serafina Crolla, who are all making significant contributions to Italian British migration literature. Furthermore, while many of our interviewees have ties to the catering industry, their stories reveal a substantial evolution, showing how they have either inherited and modernised family legacies or started their own successful businesses.
